Virtua Women’s Health Symposium
A one-day health symposium for mid-life women that started modestly with about 400 attendees in a New Jersey suburb grew so much in popularity that it had to be moved to the Philadelphia Convention Center to accommodate the 1,500 plus women who wanted to attend. At each symposium, we offered break-out sessions on health topics, interactive displays, activities and a keynote speaker that appealed to the target market. Over the course of 10 years, speakers included Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Dr. Oz, Gina Davis, Cissy Spacek and others. The symposium became a major factor in the growth of Virtua’s reputation for women’s health services.
Hospital Grand Opening
When Virtua replaced its hospital in Voorhees, NJ, in 2011, it was the first new hospital to be built in the region in over 20 years. To mark the occasion, we created a series of events held over a two-week period. The first was a VIP event on the hospital campus in a temporary structure that accommodated 1,500 guests for a program and cocktail reception. The second event provided an opportunity for 7,000 employees and community residents to tour the new hospital before it was occupied by patients. The events were promoted by print and radio advertising, and a commemorative book was produced for the VIP event.
